Slime Plus One

This week our experiment was called “Slime Plus One” as our experiment used all the same ingredients (borax, water and glue) as last week, with the addition of corn flout. This week, the students made “rubber” balls – and they really did bounce, not high, but they did bounce. Most of the student’s hypothesized that the addition of the corn flour would make the product gooier; I think they were pleasantly surprised Check out our Facebook page, Learning Inglewood Style to see some pictures.

One of our students brought her state standardized test scores to share her success with us this week. She scored advanced in Math and English-Language Arts! We are so proud of the hard work she does each week, and the seriousness with which she takes studying. We are so proud of this student and so excited to be able to help her on her academic journey!

Next week, our experiment is entitled “Balloon Fun”. This is an experiment I did way back in the day when I was a little kid, and it involves balloons, baking soda and vinegar! (Some of you already know what will happen, I’m sure.) Next week will be our last week for our summer session, but we will start our school year program September 7. It is hard to believe the summer is nearly over!
