Last Saturday was our first pancake breakfast and it was a great success, even though it was pouring rain for most of the morning. Some of our donors attended, teachers from the school and students and their families who attend LIST. We even had people stop by on their way to work and take orders to go! We will be planning another pancake breakfast in the next couple months, so stay tuned.
This week, we saw our waiting list rise to new highs. We have gone over slot 50 on the list! This does not mean that we have 50 students on our list currently, but it does mean that from the beginning of the year until now, we have had 50 parents sign their child up on our waiting list. Currently, we have 30 parents signed up; this means we probably have close to 40 students on the list since some parents sign up two or more children.
This week, we also had some of the Disney volunteers come and serve our students. So far, all the volunteers have really enjoyed their time with us. It has been a great way to gain exposure for LIST and have extra tutors.
Once again, I have been so impressed with the students that come to LIST and their families. Their support at our pancake breakfast was much appreciated and it is an honor to work with these families each week.
