In other news, I have had over 20 inquiries about volunteering with Disney’s “Give a Day, Get a Day” program. It has been great to get our name out there, and even better, it seems that at least one and maybe two-three of these individuals are interested in volunteering on a regular basis! I mainly signed up to allow our current volunteers the opportunity to go to Disneyland for free; I had no idea we would have so many inquiries and that we would gain more regular volunteers.
Finally, I have been extremely pleased this week with the first grade boy attending LIST. This week, it was obvious that he had been practicing at home, and because of this practice, he is making progress. What is even more remarkable to me is the difference in the personality of this child! When he first came to LIST, he was withdrawn and silent. When you asked him a question, he would just look at you. Now, he runs in, is excited every time he comes, and sometimes even jumps/dances around! His excitement is not just in coming to LIST, but he is also very excited to be learning.. With such a positive attitude, I am confident this student will continue to make progress. LIST is changing lives, one student at a time!
