It has been a fun and expectant week at LIST. The students are very relieved that testing is done, and the end of the school year and summer are in sight. We started enrollment for our summer program and for next school year; it is crazy to think the calendar year is nearly half over.
The first grade boy I’ve been working with has made a breakthrough as well. He no longer sees vowels as only short sounds and is beginning to sound out words using both the long and short sounds. If the word does not “sound right” he switches to the other sound. This is a great step since it signifies he is really internalizing the work we have been doing, and is now using the tools he has been learning!
We are also very excited about our Super Delicious Desserts event coming up THIS SATURDAY at 7 pm! It sounds like there will be a good representation of LIST families as well as our supporters. Not to mention, if the desserts are anything like last year, it will be a GREAT night!
