This week, we were able to celebrate the successes of one of our students – a sixth grade girl. She has been coming to LIST for the past year or so, and since she started coming the reports of her improvement have come from her teachers as well as her mom. This week, however, she received an A grade on two different tests – a social studies test as well as a science test. It seems that her grades, after moving up to B’s and C’s are now moving up to A’s and B’s! We are very proud of this student and really enjoy working with her!
The other excitement here this week is our upcoming Saturday Art Class. The students are really excited for this chance, and I know this will become one of our most popular classes yet. We plan on having the students create a piece of art that expresses something about themselves. We are also going to have them make popsicle stick frames with magnets so they can immediately take it home and display their work. I will definitely post pictures in my next blog.
