We have a lot coming up in the next couple weeks! As promised our LIST Calendar will be available soon (in a few weeks!) The 2011 calendar features some of the students and volunteers of LIST and will be sold for $15! I know, I keep teasing you with this opportunity, but I will post purchase information soon! Also coming up is “Masquerade Social Networking with a Purpose” to be held on October 28, 2010, 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Kay ‘ n Dave’s in Culver City. Come out and grab dinner and/or a drink, meet some new people, hear about what’s happening at LIST and much more! You can get in the Halloween spirit without having to worry about a costume!
We’ve also been able to add a few students to our roster with the addition of some new volunteers! In fact, on Mondays, we are up to four volunteers helping us out – we only have room to take one more volunteer for Mondays as we only have five tables! Of course, we can always use more volunteers Tuesday-Thursday, so if you are interested, or you know someone who may be interested, pass on my email – kvellenga@listhe lps.org.
Finally, one parent this week told me how happy she is that her son is enrolled at LIST. He has been with us since last school year, and she mentioned how he has been on honor roll and is now in a class that is a feeder to the GATE program (Gifted and Talented). I was so pleased to hear about her son’s progress and her pleasure in how we have been able to help him!
