We're Back! For Our Third Year!

We started our third year of operation this week when we opened on Tuesday! It has been great to see students from last year and those that came during the summer as well after the break. Those students we have not seen since June all seemed to have a great summer; one student, while in Mexico bought a horse with the money she had been saving all last year! I also had another report of high test scores on the state standardized test by one of our students attending last year – I’ve urged this student to bring his form iso I can make a copy to post on my blog. When he heard proof of his test scores would be online (without his name of course) he became very excited by the prospect of becoming famous!

With our opening, our wait list has jumped by nearly 10 students already this week. There are a few students I will be following up with, students that had signed up, but did not attend, to verify their attendance. If I cannot reach them, or they are not coming, we will be able to use those spaces to move through part of the waiting list, but the only way we will make a true dent is to find more volunteers. Luckily, we have most of our volunteers returning from last year, and we have added one new volunteer this week as well. Without the volunteers, we would not be able to serve as many students and we are very grateful to them.

In the next couple weeks, we should have our hands on the first annual LIST School Year Calendar; stay posted for details on how to purchase your very own LIST calendar
