Last week, I highlighted a couple of the great students attending LIST, this week I want to give a shout out to a couple of our volunteers, Ali Padilla and Sherry Hutson. Sherry is a recent volunteer and has been coming several days each week. Even with a hurt ankle, she has managed to make it to LIST! We are truly thankful for her time and dedication to us.
Ali has been volunteering with us for nearly a year now, and has joined our board of directors. One thing I appreciate about Ali is that she thinks of ways to make the LIST environment more comfortable (we now have bottles of water to give the students when they get thirsty, and a mini-fridge to keep them in thanks to Elise Green). Ali has also donated not only her time, but her resources by making gift bags for the students for Christmas and now she is thinking of what she can do for Valentine’s Day. Thank you, Ali and Sherry for your time and commitment.
We have many new fundraising/promotional ideas to implement for LIST this year, so keep you eye out for our emails, Facebook posts and Evites. One of our first events will be on the “grass roots” side of fundraising; we are going to have a few pancake breakfasts throughout the rest of the school year, so stay tuned for more information on ways to help out.
