Short but successful

This week was a short one with only two days of tutoring due to the school schedule at the local elementary school. We were still able to complete 9 sessions over the two days. Included in our students this week, we had a new student attend that does not attend the local elementary school. There is a water store next door to our office space where the neighborhood comes to get filtered water for an inexpensive price. If you have ever been to L.A., you know the importance of having filtered water to drink – the tap water does not taste good at all! Anyway, the mother of the new student buys her water from this store and saw us next door; they live in a community near us called Culver City. She signed up one of her daughters immediately and is waiting until we get more volunteers or additional openings so she can sign up her other daughter. It’s great to know that we can be a service to people outside our community as well!

Next week will be a full week of tutoring, but we will be closed for the following week due to the school schedule and the Thanksgiving break. Before I know it, Christmas will be upon us!
