Setting up and a new website

We are getting very close to the opening of LIST! This week, I am busy setting things up, unpacking supplies and advertising in the community. I’ll be passing out flyers for the next several days after school. With the close relationship we have with the nearby elementary school, I have been granted permission to also leave a stack of flyers at the school office. The principal has also agreed to announce our program at the first parent meeting.

We will have an Open House at the end of the week for parents to come and purchase their first tutoring sessions for their children. We may have smaller numbers this first week as we are just getting the word out, but hopefully, as word spreads, there will be a great number of children signed up for tutoring. Our first day of tutoring will be September 8!

We’ve also had more interest from potential volunteers which is great as well. The more volunteers we have, the more students we will be able to serve.

Finally, LIST has gone high-tech, well as high-tech as a website is nowadays! You can find us on the web at http://www.listhelps.org/. Come check us out, we’ve got a lot of information about the community as well as about us as an organization.

I’m sure there will be more to blog about after the end of the week once we have our Open House, so check in and see what has happened!
