By the time 5:30 rolls around today, we will have completed over 6,000 tutoring sessions since we opened! That is 270,090 minutes of tutoring, and as someone commented on my Facebook post, that does not include administration time, meetings and fundraisers. It’s amazing to think we have completed so many sessions since when I first started out, the first couple weeks I would sometimes open without one session scheduled, hoping for more sign ups. Now, we are running a waiting list of 20-30 students, we hold monthly art classes and we have had our first choir performance, not to mention the summer sessions we run during summer vacation where we focus on science and art with some review mixed in as well. We are still a grass roots organization, but we are making a big difference in our community! Of course this would not be possible without our volunteers and donors and we are so indebted to them!
